A blog post about wanting to write a blog post

Hello. This is a blog post about me wanting to write a blog post. It's pretty nice, isn't it? Can I share a secret with you, though? Sometimes - NAY - often times I forget to do that.

But I mean, why would I, exactly, even do that when we've got BlueSky, Mastodon and even that dump we call Twitter? They somewhat can be called “blog” platforms? “Microblogging” platforms? It's what we often use on a daily basis. If I wanna post a PINGAS meme, I can do just that on either platforms I mentioned. If I got cool shit to show off, I can do exactly just that on either same platforms. Some people might see it. One person out of 20-30 something followers on either platforms will like it. Maybe even more outsiders might like it, should the algorithm decide it’s the new, big hot thing.

But if I would want to make a detailed post? Bloody character limits will damn you.

Hell, neither platforms even allow you to embed a funny picture in the middle or a video without it… well…

...becoming an attachment or an embedded preview to some sketchy website or something.

I know Tumblr & Substack allow for use as blogs and whatever, but I chose to not use these two, or at least not anymore.

Substack quite literally decided to take notes from Twitter and both profit off of, and pay people for their Nazi content. Sure, they've removed SOME of them after weeks of pressure; I used Substack only to leave patch notes for one of my websites; but I still quit. I mean, who in their right mind would look at extremist bullshit and go like: «Yeah, no, we ain't deleting that! Censorship would make them worse! Surely they ain't gotta get actually physical!» in the first place?!

And Tumblr?

Do I even need to explain that?

(Including the semi-frequent porn bot follower problem that still wasn't resolved for years, and a resurgence of AI-generated CP accounts as well?)

((and a rise of bigotry, especially on the moderation side of Tumblr? Guess I managed to leave Tumblr in time.))

I gotta say, I'm liking btw as a blogging platform.

It isn't super bloated, it doesn't have stuff that can get in the way, and that Pro plan just can't come any sooner, though I can't simply pay for it out of my own personal local wallet (yet). ((not that the Plan will be available any time soon at the time of writing this, anyway))

I kind of wish I could use it more like I do with Mastodon, BlueSky… and… sigh, Twitter.

But I guess I don't get thoughts big enough to share on here often.

Speaking of which, I haven't made a proper vlog for my personal YouTube channel in a while, and I still can't get around to it, cos of how frantically busy my life is. I was thinking about making webcam type stuff on it, reviews for things, but - again - I'm too busy for that.

I really hope I'll get to share something in video form soon.

...and I guess that's how this blog post will close, then. lol
